Who We Are

Through an active membership, GCHS is able to offer symposia, field trips and outings, publish monographs, support research through scholarships, engage in exciting history projects, and more.

GCHS is a Tier II affiliate of the Arizona Historical Society.

Our History

The Grand Canyon Historical Society was founded in 1984 in Flagstaff, Arizona. Originally called the Grand Canyon Pioneers Society, the current name was adopted in 2002.

Our Mission

The Grand Canyon Historical Society is a non-profit corporation under IRS Code 501(c)(3).
Our Mission Statement:
The Grand Canyon Historical Society celebrates and promotes the study and preservation of the Grand Canyon regions cultural and natural history for the education and enjoyment of its members and the public.
